Thai Yoga Bodywork

I do not share traditional Thai Massage. I honor the foundations I have studied in the United States and Thailand the past seven years, but my main focus is to support the parasymathetic nervous system, otherwise known as your body’s natural super power to heal itself. I create a “safety net” for clients to fully drop into their body with the guidance of breath-work and visualization as well as hands on touch and energy-work.

Thai Yoga Bodywork is a combination of hands-on techniques such as assisted yoga poses, gentle twisting, acupressure, energy work, fascia release, and somatic healing. It has also been referred to as "Lazy Man Yoga". Thai Yoga Bodywork guides the physical body to therapeutically stretch, increases range of motion and engages the breath to stimulate circulation to support every vital organ. This holistic practice is designed to bring the body, mind and spirit back to balance. Thai Yoga Bodywork is an excellent compliment to any exercise routine and available to a wide range of ages and abilities.

This ancient healing practice is rooted in various layers of historical influence including Buddhism, Ayurveda, Yoga, Chinese medicine and Indigenous Thai medicine. Thai Yoga Bodywork has been passed down through generations mostly through oral tradition and practiced today in many different forms across Thailand. In the West, Thai Yoga Bodywork is one of the fastest growing massage modalities in America the past decade.

SESSION OVERVIEW:
This style of bodywork is performed on a Thai futon mattress, with comfortable clothes you can stretch in, and no massage oils. Alyssa will start with a full body assessment including mobility, breath and energy body. From there she will position the client and start the bodywork. The last 10-15 minutes of the session will include Energy Work to support deep relaxation and to seal in the work.
